First Live Stream to YouTube – Layers of Fear #PS4
I have wanted to stream games for years but I’ve never had the guts to give it a go. Writing about games is one thing, outing yourself on display is another. After G recently started I decided to bite the bullet and give it a go myself. I have to admit I was pretty nervous but I figured not many people would show up for it (Saturday afternoon, no warning or advertising plus it can take years to generate a following – I was safe!).
Layers of Fear was my game of choice, even though I have already played it. I am currently halfway through Uncharted 2 so I couldn’t really start streaming from chapter 12.
I decided to stream directly from my PS4 to my YouTube Gaming instead of Twitch, simply because it’s easier to do. I had about 7 or 8 people turn up out of the blue, more than I was expecting, eek. I didn’t really know what to say and it was definitely awkward at the beginning, especially as my chat wasn’t working so I had to call G in to sort it out. Gradually I got into the game and forgot about the tension. It was an experience and I feel that with time perhaps I will find my streaming self and make it a regular pass time of mine. You can check out laugh at my first attempt at streaming in the video below.
With Facebook live broadcasts taking off and apps like Periscope I do find more people are now venturing in front of the camera, unedited. Have you ever live streamed?
