Perception – New Horror Game Arriving Soon!
I love a good horror game. One of my top 5 games of last year was none other than Layers of Fear by Bloober Team. On Friday I was sent a press release for a brand new horror game that could very well be another cracker. Perception from Deep End Games and Feardemic is due for release on May 30, 2017. It’s a first person, narrative psychological horror that is apparently unlike anything you’ve played before. You play as Cassie, a blind woman who uses her ultra-sensitive hearing to solve an ancient mystery.
Cassie is investigating an abandoned mansion in Gloucester, Massachusetts. She has a mobile phone to stay in touch with the world outside and that’s about it. When she arrives she will discover that the mansion is tormented by a ghostly ‘presence’ that sets its sights on Cassie. Cassie is able to work her way through the mansion using her cane and echolocation. The cane sound creates visuals but at a cost to herself as the Presence is able to locate her each time her cane makes a sound. She needs to use the ambient noise in the house or use distraction in order to avoid detection. Sounds stressful, but in a good way!
I know very little else about this game other than what is shown in the trailer below.
Seeing as The Deep End Games is a team formed of veterans from games including Dead Space and BioShock (one of my top games EVER!), it’s fair to say that I am really looking forward to Perception and I have high hopes for it.
