Pure Farming 2018 – First Thoughts
Despite my grandad being a farm manager, I can safely say that my farming skills are somewhere between zero to none. I confirmed this with my first go on Pure Farming 2018. I spent a couple of hours learning some of the basics on my very own farm in Montana. I filmed the whole thing for you so you can watch my first impressions and lack of farming skills – I have edited it as trying to master reversing has been a big struggle.
Addicted to Farming
I love games like Stardew Valley, Harvest Moon and My Time at Portia – these games involve farming and repetitive tasks and they fill me full of joy. Pure Farming 2018 is extremely similar to the way it gets you hooked, the way it chills you out and the enjoyment level – yet it is far more realistic. This is a simulation game, so you can expect a sense of reality, perhaps you’ll even learn a few things about real life farming too. Actually, you will learn a hell of a lot if you are totally new to simulation farming experiences like I am.
True Farming Experience
I’ve only spent a few hours in Pure Farming 2018 and I can tell you that I am going to spend many, many more hours. I feel my first couple of days were really stunted by my skills, but in time I’m going to become a master farmer.
Pure Farming 2018 is developed by Ice Flames and published by Techland Publishing, due for release tomorrow, 13 March. Since the game was previewed in January, Ice Flames has been working to improve the game and add some extra features after listening to the feedback from the community and critics. The game has been improved dramatically so you can expect a wonderful experience during play. I only played the one mode, but there are lots of others out there and some fun features such as the drone that will be awesome. You can even have a farm in different locations such as Germany and Japan – love this idea! I barely got to touch the surface when I played, which is always a good sign. You are going to be kept busy!
Expect some additional content in the future, both free and paid. Mods are expected soon along with DLCs with new machinery, modded tools, steering wheel support and more.
I hope to steam Pure Farming 2018 on my Twitch channel but before I do I will be playing it in my own time to try to improve my skills. So will you take on the challenge of saving the family heritage and take on the farm? Come and tell me over on Twitter.
