Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is a Must Play – And I’ve Not Finished it Yet
I’ve not played all of the Uncharted series – just a bit of the first one with G – so I wasn’t THAT excited for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. That was until I saw an advert a few days ago that blew me away. I mean the cut scene and the gameplay transition looked so seamless. Stunning graphics (the faces, wow!) and the action was there too. Thankfully, G had pre-ordered it so I knew that today it would arrive and I would get a chance to give it a go. G got on first, you can watch his gameplay in the video below, but this afternoon I got my chance and already I can tell you that this is a gaming experience you don’t want to miss out on.
It’s a must-have game that all PS4 players need to have and perhaps it will become Game of the Year – all that and I’m only on chapter 5! How can I say this so confidently? Seriously, you just have to get on and play because not only does it look incredible, and I mean INCREDIBLE, but it also plays so fluidly, you’re watching a scene and then you’re in the scene, you’re there, you’re exploring and taking in the story, which is really gripping so far, I’m well and truly gripped. The only reason I’m writing this now is because G is streaming the multiplayer on Twitch so I can’t play. We seriously need two copies of this game.
So far, the story has given me history, an insight into Nathan’s childhood, some exploration and tense situations and a look at his current day life. There’s a fantastic little surprise from Naughty Dog too, which I won’t say just yet as I don’t want to spoil it for anyone (it’s already out there on social media so you can find out if you don’t know already) – I’ll probably get round to doing a full on review and I’ll mention it then. I know we’re about to head out on an adventure soon and I cannot wait to explore and see where the story is going to take me.
I’ve also decided to go back and play the other games in the franchise; we have the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection already so there’s nothing stopping me. I do feel I should play them before I continue on with Uncharted 4 but, in all honesty, I don’t think I can delay in playing. Hopefully, it won’t ruin things for me in the long run; it’s a risk I’m going to take.
If you haven’t got it yet or haven’t considered getting it then I seriously recommend that you do and I hope you’ll fall in love with it as much as I have. I guess you could call it love at first play.
What’s the last game that gripped you right from the get go?
