Xbox One X Exclusively Playable at EGX 2017
We’ve been waiting patiently to hear about what’s going to be playable at EGX. Each day I’ve been checking their website, their Twitter account, I even follow them on Snapchat. We’ve had a few little snippets of news, such as Project Cars 2 and the first batch of indie games being announced, but nothing that was pretty major. I will admit I’ve been getting a bit concerned that EGX would be more board games and indie titles than anything else. But this week there has been some more announcements that have set the hype chain in motion.
The most notable news for me is that Xbox One X will be playable at EGX 2017. This is great news simply because last year Xbox wasn’t really present. It was mainly PlayStation, and as much as I love my PS4 I was disappointed that there wasn’t much variety on the floor. The announcement of Xbox One X being exclusively playable gives me hope that we are going to get a lot more bang for our money this year.
The games we’ll be able to play on the Xbox One X are:
- Forza Motorsport 7
- Assassin’s Creed Origins
- Middle-earth: Shadow of War
- Sea of Thieves
- Super Lucky’s Tale
The Xbox One X is the most powerful console ever to be created. EGX will be the first and only time that us mere souls in the UK will be able to get our hands on the console before it’s released on 7 November. It has been designed to play games in 4K and has a six-teraflop performance that gives it the power that no other console has achieved to date.
While I am so excited to get my hands on the console I don’t think it will be one that I personally will add to our collection. I have no doubt that G will come away wanting one, but I am now making the move into the world of PC more and more. I don’t think I’ll ever not have a console (exclusives make this impossible) but I do think out of all the consoles, the Xbox is now unnecessary.
It’s not too late to get your tickets to EGX. We’ll be there for all four days so come and say hello if you see us there!
